Flatbed fleet dispatch

Flatbed fleet dispatch for carriers running 2 to 10 open-deck trucks

Small flatbed carriers grow until the owner is dispatching from the cab at night. Flatbed fleet dispatch takes that off your phone: every truck on one desk, mixed flatbeds, step decks and conestogas booked for what each can actually haul, one weekly report, and 5% of gross per truck.

Fleet workflow

How we run a mixed open-deck fleet

  1. Step 1: Truck profiles

Trailer, deck heights, gear, permits and each driver's home time and hours limits.

  2. Step 2: Your rules

Fleet minimum rate, lanes you want, customers that come first, who approves loads.

  3. Step 3: One board

We plan the trucks together so they do not chase the same freight or deadhead past each other.

  4. Step 4: Weekly report

One report, a line per truck: loads, loaded and empty miles, gross and fee.

Mixed equipment is where a fleet desk earns its fee. A step deck goes after the tall machinery a flatbed would need a permit for, and the conestoga takes the covered freight, so each trailer works its own part of the market. Owners still setting up the company side should read how to start a flatbed trucking business, and our notes on vetting flatbed brokers apply to every truck you add.

Fleet rate

5% of gross on every truck, from truck 2

The fleet rate is our standard price for 2 or more trucks, not a promotion. Single trucks pay 6%. No setup fee, no per-truck minimum, month-to-month with 30 days notice. A truck that sits a week costs nothing. Full terms are on the pricing page.

EXAMPLE: 4 trucks, $27,600 week

At 6% per truck
$1,656
At the 5% fleet rate
$1,380
Difference per week
$276

Reporting

One weekly report for the whole fleet

Flatbed carriers with a few trucks need to see which truck is earning and which is sitting. The weekly report puts them side by side: loads, loaded miles, deadhead, gross, our fee and all-in rate per mile per truck, plus the fleet total. It is the same data we use to move a truck to better lanes.

Bring the fleet over one truck at a time, or all at once

You can start with one or two trucks and add the rest later. Either way the fleet rate applies once 2 trucks are on the desk. Check per-load numbers with the rate and profit calculator.

Fleet FAQ

Fleet questions

Do all my trucks need the same trailer?

No. Mixed fleets are normal on open deck. We track each truck's trailer, gear and driver limits and book them separately, and sometimes pair a flatbed and a step deck on the same shipper.

Who approves loads, me or my drivers?

You decide. Some owners approve every load themselves; others set rules (minimum rate, lanes, home time per driver) and let drivers say yes inside them. We write the rules down and follow them.

Can I keep my own direct customers?

Yes. Tell us which trucks or days are committed to your own freight and we plan around them, then fill the gaps and the backhauls.

What about fleets with more than 10 trucks?

Apply and tell us the size. The 5% fleet rate covers every truck from 2 up, and we will tell you straight away whether our desk can serve a fleet your size well.

5% per truck. One desk. One report.

Apply with your truck count and a dispatcher will call to map out the fleet. Read more about our flatbed dispatch service.
